Vascular modelling in sport
The presentation will illustrate numerical and in-vitro approaches for the modeling of the flow in coronary arteries. The advantages and limits of numerical approaches are discussed, in relation to the modeling of the fluid-structure interaction of the blood flow with the aortic root and the proximal part of the coronary arteries. In-vitro models can overcome these limitations, using bioprosthetic aortic valves and compliant mockup models of the aorta.
