Use of smartphones for frugal innovation: guided hands on (Part 1)
This practical session will guide the students through the design and development of a smartphone application, based on Android systems, (Android) with an intended medical purpose. The students will learn the basics behind app coding (e.g., layout, activities, etc.) getting accustomed to XML and JAVA languages. This session will show how also bio signals acquired with only built-in smartphone sensors and hardware (e.g., accelerometer, camera, flash, etc.) can be used to prototype applications with an intended medical purpose.
This session will be anticipated by the release of some online tutorials, which will allow the students to be prepared and more comfortable with the practical session. The practical session will be based on the examples outlined in the online tutorials.
