Gaze orientation and stabilization in sport

The seminar Gaze orientation and stabilization in sport will introduce the basic physiological principles of the eye movements the brain uses to control our gaze and allow collecting visual information from the environment, highlighting the physiological properties of our ocular motor and visual sensory abilities, and why these functions are important for sport performance. Top level athletes frequently show better-than normal abilities of basic ocular motility functions, showing how these can be trained by sport practice and suggesting that their specific training may, in turn, reflect positively on sport performance.
